The current festival branding did not fully reflect the unique characteristics of the festival
Solution
A new summary of the festival’s brand core value: BIFF (Busan International Film Festival) is a film festival for all movie lovers, introducing films that reflect a wide range of perspectives from various directors, free from any narrow-minded views.
The symbol was redesigned using “co-” and “any-light” as key concepts. The focus was on creating a brand that everyone can enjoy all night long, across any genre. The theme of the festival represents a space for continued dialogue, such as the “Film Night” and “Midnight Movie Screening,” which continue until late hours. This reflects the essence of the festival as a platform for film discussions and the everlasting light of cinema. The color codes were set to reflect the concepts of night and light, emphasizing the continuity and vibrancy of the festival experience.
